Another Crazy Busy Month at Liberty Marketing

Can you believe it? We’re already a quarter of the way through 2019.

As we head into the fourth month of the year, the seasons began changing when we welcomed the first day of spring on 20th of March, and the weather since has been totally tropical!

Windows were open, some braver souls donned shorts and the heating was turned off during the last week of March… Which unfortunately didn’t go down well with everyone. It’s always a difficult task balancing the radiators and the freezers (referring to those who feel the warmth/cold most) in these confusing times, but it would appear that the air-con wars have already begun.

We’ve won another award (Go, Emily!), celebrated St. David’s Day in style with homemade Welsh Cakes and blooming daffs, and ate copious amounts of cheese at this quarter’s company day out. And those are only the internal shenanigans of March.

While it’s very rarely a quiet month at Liberty, March has been particularly busy. Here are our highlights…

#1 Photography Day

The office was absolutely thrilled to hear we’d hired a professional photographer to take what we’d called “faux naturel” shots of teams working for our updated website, especially when they caught a glimpse of the photography schedule and sussed they wouldn’t all be group photos. Yes, they were thrilled… Honestly…

But the photographer who has a history for capturing warm and bright imagery, was equally warm and bright herself. She put colleagues at ease and managed to use natural lighting to her (and our) advantage.

The plan is to begin launching our website with the updated imagery this month, including an updated version of email signatures, so slowly but surely you will begin to witness some of these changes for yourselves. It’s all very exciting.

#2 Madame Fromage Company Day Out

Quarterly company day’s out seem to come around so quickly! This month, we headed to Madame Fromage, located in Castle Arcade in Cardiff’s City Centre, for a cheese & wine tasting afternoon like no other. Upon arrival there was a cheese board buffet with some oh-so-delicious delicacies, including mini stuffed Yorkshire puddings which hit everyone’s sweet spot. Followed by a fantastically educational cheese and wine tasting session and a final delicatessen buffet that was above and beyond anyone’s expectations.

It was great value for money, a fantastic afternoon out with the team, and we thoroughly recommend it for an afternoon in Cardiff!

#3 Liberty Film Night

The first of many (we hope!), but this delight was held on the first day of spring, celebrating the welcoming of lighter and warmer days. In our new, sizeable meeting space, we held a Liberty Film Night which included the addition of Dominoes pizza, buckets of popcorn and other sweet treats to tickle attendees taste buds. The winning film, by poll, was ‘Venom’ featuring Tom Hardy… No wonder so many women stayed for the evening 😉

#4 HR Awards Ball at The Exchange Hotel

A great event, hosted by the Wales HR Network to celebrate outstanding people and businesses for their contribution to HR, over the past twelve months, was held at the newly renovated Exchange Hotel. With entertainment from Photon Glow Show, Rocket Joe Joe and the Old Time Bangers, plus an awe inspiring talk from Lowri Morgan, it was a very memorable evening made even more memorable by announcing our very own Emily Webb as “BEST HR PROFESSIONAL – DIGITAL / IT”. Go, Emily!
