Sayonara November! December is Coming to Town
It’s been a brilliant month, Liberty literally hasn’t stopped. But as the month draws to a close we’re not sad to see the back of it, and it’s all down to one little word; Christmas.
The decorations have been twinkling in the corner of the room waiting to be lifted out of storage for some time and as the days have been gradually getting colder and darker, festive spirits have been rising. There was even talk of adding glitter to some of the macho moustaches that graced the office this month!
But on the final day of November we look back over an especially busy month of advertising, a hectic Black Friday schedule and a multitude of Movember fundraising events that helped our Mo-Bro’s and Mo-Sista’s raise over £2,000 for the charity.
#1 It all started with a shave.
A number of baby faces graced our Cardiff office on the 1st of November, in preparation for Movember’s #GrowAMo campaign. Ten Liberty colleagues committed to nurturing a moustache for the month to fundraise and raise awareness of the charity. Adam Stonehouse, Technical SEO Specialist at Liberty took it a step further and dedicated himself to taking photos of his whiskers on a daily basis to document its growth.

#2 Then we donned sweatbands!
On November 10th it was the annual Cardiff Mo-Run. A combination of Mo-Bro’s and Mo-Sista’s came together across two races (either 5 or 10k) in a bid to raise further awareness and seek sponsorship to smash fundraising targets. Some rose to the challenge and aimed to beat their PB’s, others enjoyed the scenery along the route instead – either way, Liberty were proud as punch of their volunteers giving up their time and (lots of) energy first thing on a Saturday morning.
#3 We made it back to London
Various teams and senior managers travelled to London and back on a number of occasions this month. We were at a meeting with Love Pork, and another with Crew Clothing. We held a Paid Search, Display & SEO Seminar with Figaro Digital on the 11th and were a digital expert attending Masterclassing’s B2B event at the Century Club on the 27th.
The miles travelled are long, hours worked are longer, but London is our second home and it’s always a thrill stepping back onto the city’s paving.
#4 74 – 24. Enough said.
Our quarterly company day out this month took us to the impressive Principality Stadium for a work-day we’ll never forget; Wales v Tonga.
What. A. Game.
Some might argue that the brute Welsh force was boring to watch, that there was no edge to the match, but our attendees seemed to thoroughly enjoy cheering on the bois and celebrating each try. Why attend a match day at the stadium if you don’t intend on soaking up the atmosphere, right?
Plus, our Liberty ladies made it onto the WRU Facebook promo video for the RSA game the following week.
For those who couldn’t/didn’t want to attend the rugby we held a corporate lunch at the office and ordered a mass of Dominos for everyone to enjoy.
#5 Black Friday
What a smash! This may have been the biggest and best Black Friday for our clients yet, amidst reports of enthusiasm for Black Friday shopping lagging Y-O-Y. A client of ours achieved a whopping 735% return on ad spend (ROAS) with us in 2017, this year we topped that reaching a 904% ROAS for paid media services on Black Friday alone.
Our guys worked tirelessly in the run up and during the course of Black Friday and Cyber Weekend, monitoring their paid media accounts, modifying and adjusting bids to yield better results, and identifying opportunities. So this is a big thank you and applause for our dedicated team who always strive for the best for our clients.
