An Unbe-leaf-able Autumn: September and October’s Round-Up
Autumn is well and truly here! And, not only has the temperature dropped, and the clocks fallen back, but, be-leaf you me, changes have been afoot here at Liberty (ok, I’ll stop with the autumn puns now).
The run-up to Christmas is always the busiest period in the marketing calendar, and the last few weeks have been no exception. In fact, we have so much more to tell you than in our usual monthly round-ups.
So… grab your pumpkin-spiced latte and a yummy festive bake, and check out the below highlights.
#1 Angharad Started on the ‘Road to Japan’

It seems like forever ago now, but, before the Welsh rugby team headed out to Japan in September and we claimed the fourth position, a glamorous ‘Road to Japan’ dinner was held on the pitch at the Principality Stadium, and our very own Client Relationship Manager Angharad was invited.
Donning her best ballgown, she got to schmooze with some of Wales’ most famous faces, enjoy a slap-up three-course meal, and listen to speeches from rugby legends like Warren Gatland.
#2 We Helped Catapult New Businesses Towards Success
Of course, we have not only listened to speeches this Autumn but also delivered them.
In the latest of our HQ events, our MD, Gareth, and senior team delivered a morning of eCommerce insights on ‘Using Digital to Catapult Retail, eCommerce and Online Commercial Businesses’.

This was an exclusive event for those looking to ready their store’s digital strategy for the holiday season, and we’re pleased to say we had a packed-out office.
#3 We Took a Chance on Some Counters
Every quarter, we like to get out of the office for the day and enjoy a day of fun-filled, team building activities with a touch of debauchery (or ‘trub’ as the team here affectionately calls it).
This time we rolled the dice and headed into the city centre for a day of spy missions, pub quizzes, and miss-bee-having at board game café, Chance and Counters.
Naturally, we had to take some photos with some very familiar-sounding titles…

#4 We’re Shortlisted for a UK Search Award
Woohoo! We’re pleased to say our hard work for our client Label Source has been recognised and we have been nominated for the ‘Most Innovative Campaign’ at the UK Search Awards for our topic clustering craftsmanship – a magical, technical creation by Adam (the screaming frog below).
We’ll be sharing a blog post soon on this innovation, and will be crossing our fingers for the awards ceremony on November 19th.
#5 We Uncovered how Wales Reacted to the #RWC2019

From the nail-biting game against Fiji to the giant collision between Dan Biggar and Liam Williams, we’ve been keeping a close eye on the 2019 Rugby World Cup, gathering stats and data to create ‘Wales Reacts’ – a round-up of our great nation’s reactions.
Using some snazzy social listening, we’ve figured out who were the most talked about players and teams, which were the most used emojis in rugby social posts, and at what point in the games people were most vocal about their love (or hate) of their team.
#6 We Joined the Global Welsh Community
Wales is great, no, better than great, and we want to shout this fact to the world. So, we’ve joined the diaspora of people and businesses in Wales promoting our nation’s talents to the world, the Global Welsh.
We’re sure there will be plenty of fun and things to come, but in the meantime, we’re happy to be amongst like-minded individuals. As our Global Welsh bio says…
“Grit, determination and a cheeky sense of humour. That’s what being Welsh means to me.” Cymru am byth!
#7 We’ve Grown the Family

The leaves are changing and so are some of the faces here at Liberty. In the last few weeks we have welcomed Nouman and Olivia as Digital Strategists, Nicola as Client Relationship Manager, Owen as SEO Specialist, and Cellan as a Junior SEO Specialist.
If you haven’t said hello already, we’re sure you’ll get to meet them soon as they embed themselves in projects and help us to grow our ever-expanding agency.
#8 We Reached the Summit
We’re a firm favourite now at Figaro events, and the latest Summit on October 24th was no different.
Our MD, Gareth, headed to the big spoke to cover the subject of ‘Advanced Audience Targeting for Google Ads’ where he got some great reviews, including one delegate from HSBC saying “The Liberty talk was excellent”, and another saying it was “the best presentation” at the event and that it was “very insightful”.
Kudos G for smashing another one out of the park!
#9 We Ate A Lot of Sweets!

Purple cupcakes with edible eyeballs, tomato crisps shaped like ghosts, and ghostly white chocolate pretzels all littered our office this Halloween. Doughnuts hung from the ceiling on strings, apples were bobbed, and group costume shots were taken. We do Halloween right at Liberty!
Our Client Relationship Manager, Nicola, even whipped up a toffee apple masterpiece for us all to enjoy.
Needless to say, after all the sugar rubbed off, we were all pretty pooped, but not too tired to award Adam, Senior Technical SEO Specialist, best dressed for his on-brand Screaming Frog costume. Check out those flippers!
