What Would You Tell Your 22 Year Old Self?
Have you seen LinkedIn’s If I Were 22 series in honour of graduation season? It’s going down a storm!
Here professionals think back to when they were fresh faced and bushy tailed, just out of university and raring to go into the world of business. If you had the chance to jump in a time machine, bend space and go back to give yourself one piece of career advice, what would you say?
Well, we’ve asked the Liberty Marketing team and here are a few of their answers:

“I would tell myself to live in Spain much earlier than I actually did (Andrew spent a year abroad during his university studies). I would probably still be there now… oh well!”

“I would tell my 22 year old self to blog more and make the most of my online writing skills. I would also have encouraged myself to get into digital straight from uni – perhaps in a junior or trainee role. It wasn’t something that was really on my radar until I started working in eCommerce, but had I looked into it back then, I could have had more of a head start.”

“I’d encourage myself to blow a lot of my savings and use it to invest in a start-up business of my own… #regrets”

“I’d advise myself to listen to and learn from my seniors in the role I had at the time. Whilst I had learnt the theory at University, they had the priceless hands on knowledge and experience of putting plans into action – which in my opinion is far more valuable.
I’d perhaps tell myself to be a bit shrewder about what I was doing with the money I earned at the time and perhaps invest it more wisely than at the bar of my local!”
